Text reading "Halloween Movie Guide"

Hello people of the internet! Today, I'm talking about a subject I hold near and dear to my heart : Halloween movies! I love everything from cheesy Disney channel orginals, to absolute gore-fests. So, I finally got around to putting together my top 12 Halloween movies. Grab some popcorn, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Movie posters for: Twitches, Addams Family, Edward Scissorhands, Hocus Pocus, HalloweenTown, and The Re-Animator

Twitches - I haven't watched this in so long! I remember watching it at a friend's house when I was younger and I loved it. Basically, it's about twin sisters who were separated at birth and sent to a non-magical land (Earth). If you enjoy cheesy movies, than this is for you!

Addams Family - Who doesn't love the Addams Family? Mortia and Wednesday are pretty much my spirit animals. It's a perfect movie to get you into the Halloween mindset.

Edward Scissorhands - Another extremely aesthetically pleasing film. I'm pretty sure Tim Burton's life is just constant Halloween. How could you not watch at least one of his movies during October?

Hocus Pocus - Not going to lie... I have NEVER seen this! It seems to be on just about everyone's (and their mum's) must watch list! I'll be watching it in the next day or two. Fingers crossed it's as amazing as everyone says!

Halloweentown - With out a doubt one of my favorites! It's definitely another one that's in the nostalgia pile. Just like Twitches, I can remember watching it with friends. It was always a huge part of Disney's Halloween promotions. You just knew that Halloween was coming when you started seeing the commercials. Also, as a kid I was pretty obsessed with witches!

Re-Animator - This is where we talk gore. This movie is with out a doubt not for the faint of heart. We're talking gallons of fake blood and buckets of guts. (Also, the main characters are named Dan and Meggan which is just too cool!)

Movie posters for: The Craft, Beetle Juice, The Haunted Mansion, Casper, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and A Nightmare On Elm Street

The Craft - Speaking of being obsessed with witches... This movie made me go to the library and check out every book about witch craft. I wanted to be exactly like them, especially Nancy. Also, if you want an easy costume idea you should watch this.

Beetle Juice - Just watched this (again) last night with Dan. Another perfect Tim Burton film. Lydia Deetz's wardrobe is everything I need in my life. (I am really sensing a theme amongst my favorite movie females...) Perfect amount of comedy and strange-ness.

The Haunted Mansion - The definition of a Disney family movie. I re-watched this recently and it's such a good, cheesy movie. Another one to keep in mind if you're looking to watch something with kids!

Casper - We're talking about the Christina Ricci version not the Hilary Duff one! Casper is just such an adorable, easy movie!

Rocky Horror Picture Show - CLASSIC! I can't go through the whole month of October without watching this at least once (or without singing Time Warp). It's officially been out for 40 years now so why not watch it? Make sure to look up a guide if you're watching it for the first time.. There are a few things you need to do while watching it!

A Nightmare On Elm Street - Possibly one of my favorite horror movies. I remember the first time I ever watched it. It was on an old VHS and it scared the absolute shit out of me. I think I was 10 at the time? I never wanted to sleep again. Again, it's full of fake blood and just the right amount of gore.
