Hotel room with a man sitting a reading a magazine

Hello people of the internet! On October 31st, Dan and I celebrated our 6th anniversary! This year we pretty much had our heart set on spending it in Dublin. The lovely people at the *Gibson hotel in Dublin got in touch with me and I was some how was able to surprise Dan! Let's just say that I might have won girlfriend of the year.

Although the *Gibson is located at the Point ( a little out of the way) it's the very last stop on the Luas redline. As someone who isn't from Dublin, this was ideal. We didn't have to worry about getting off at the wrong stop and it was only 5 minute ride back into town. Once you step off the Luas you're there. It's literally on your doorstep.

I'm not going to lie, I literally saw the *Gibson and my jaw dropped. I even got a little bit giddy because of how excited I was. We made our way up to reception and the excitement kept on building. The staff at the *Gibson hotel went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. They were so polite and helpful. Dan and I usually stay at hostels when were in Dublin and you get to a point where you don't expect such hospitable staff. I was literally in shock at how fantastic they all were.

Our room was a superior double on the fifth floor. The second Dan and I opened the door both of us dropped our bags in shock. The first picture in this post is our room. It was spacious, luxurious, absolutely spotless, and basically every other adjective you would want to hear about a hotel room.

Now for some boring bits. The room had controllable air conditioning and heating, a large TV with plenty of channels, a mini fridge, hair dryer (A very new looking one by the way), a kettle and all the fixings for coffee and tea for two.

The bed was so comfortable. We made sure we had an early night in so we had time just turn on the TV, relax in bed, and just appreciate how amazing this hotel room was. OH! And, probably the best part of the room: there was a light under the bed! It felt like we were sleeping on a space ship!

We were also treated to dinner in the Hemi bar! The food was amazing and the portions were perfect for the price. I would just say that the dishes that Dan and I both got were way spicier than the menu made it out to be. So, if you're not a fan of spicy food maybe skip it!

While I'm on the subject of food, breakfast was absolutely incredible. They had a full self-serve breakfast buffet. and that's my favorite kind of buffet. I had bits and pieces of a full Irish as well as some nuts and a muffin. It was perfect. Like everything else!

After a great night sleep and a belly full of breakfast we went back to our room. Luckily, check out at the Gibson is at 12! I had plenty of time to get ready for the day without feeling rushed.

The service we received from the Gibson was on another level. I honestly have no idea how I'm going to stay anywhere else in Dublin after this!

Thanks so much to the Gibson hotel for having us! It was an absolute pleasure to experience such a high-quality hotel!
