Hello people of the internet! As many of you may know, I was recently on holiday! My boyfriend and I and his whole lovely family went for a stay-cation in July. We drove down from Cork City to the beautiful and wonderful Waterville in Co.Kerry. Since we did so much driving to get there as well as while when we were there I thought it would be a great chance to partner up with *Chill Insurance to talk to you guys about my favorite family drives this summer.

Our first day consisted of us doing the longest bit of driving. After chats and maybe a nap or two from some of us sitting in the back of the car we stopped at Rossbeigh in Glenbeigh. We got out and stretched out legs and admired the incredible view. The mountains were astounding! After a while, we all piled back into the car for the last bit of our journey. I've never been to Waterville. So getting to take in all of the scenery while driving down was absolutely amazing. Our group arrived at the destination in the evening. It was amazing to finally be able to see Waterville.

My boyfriend and his family have been coming down here for years and years. So of course, I've been hearing about it for pretty much the entire time we've been a couple. There was something so nice about being able to walk up and down the street there and see places I've only seen in old family photographs. Or to have a drink in The Lobster. Which is a pub Dan has been banging on about for years!

Over the next week, we split up into groups of four in the cars. Driving all over the Ring of Kerry. Visiting places like Derrynane House and the gardens, Caherdaniel, Cahersiveen, Valentia Island, The Ballinskelligs, Port Magee, and O'Carrolls Cove.

I've been living in Cork for just over nine years. It's so nice to be able to get out of the city and near the coast. Especially in a place like Kerry. We had so many hilarious moments. Either driving around or in the house, we stayed in. The memories from this trip are going to last a lifetime and I can't wait to make our way back down there again.
