Simple Iced Coffee Recipe
Monday, July 27, 2015Hello people of the internet! Since it's "Summer", I thought I might share one of my favorite recipes. When it's actually warm out I'm always craving iced coffee. But, we can't always run to Starbucks can we? I've been slowly refining this recipe over the past couple of months. It's extremely simple and great if you enjoy a strong cup of coffee!
Like the title says, this is simple! All you need is:
- Fresh ground coffee
- Milk of choice
- Sugar (optional)
First thing you need to do is make a fresh pot of coffee. I find instant doesn't work very well for this. Usually I add about twice as much coffee as normal but use the same amount of water.
Next you need to figure out what kind of milk you want. Almond, soy, coconut, or regular cow milk!
When your coffee is done brewing grab your ice cube tray. Fill the majority with your strong, delicious coffee and the rest with milk. The milk part is totally optional, by the way! You can pop the tray in the freezer before you go to bed or before you go to work! That way they're ready when you are!
When your ice cubes are nice and frozen make a normal cup of coffee. Add your average amount of sugar while it's still hot enough to melt the sugar. Then you can add a little water or milk of your choice to your coffee. Make sure to leave enough room for the ice cubes!
The last step in this process is to just add your ice and enjoy! I think making the ice cubes with coffee helps to keep your coffee strong instead of watering it down! You can mix up this recipe by adding caramel sauce or or vanilla sugar.
