Full Face Of First Impressions || Part One
Thursday, October 12, 2017Hello people of the internet! I've been dying to try some new makeup lately. And, luckily, I was able to shop my stash for basically a full faces worth of new products to try. I've picked up stuff over the last few months and then left it aside because I didn't have time to give it a test run. So, today I'm sharing a few face products that I tested for the first time!
Face products that I tested
Primark's #No Filter Priming Oil
L.O.V - LOVglow Highlighting Drops
P.s. (Primark) My Perfect Color Concealer
Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation
Priming Oil - I picked this up because I also see Instagram beauty people using oils to prime their skin these days. I wanted to try it for myself. Now, I used this stuff for a few days as just an oil after I washed my face. I loved the smell and the texture. It dried fast and you didn't need a lot. But.. I also had possibly one of the worst breakouts of my life after trying it. As for wearing it under my foundation, I don't think I'm 100% sold. My foundation almost repelled away from the oil. And I think it made the foundation break down almost instantly.
*L.O.V. LOVglow Highlighting Drops - First thing I noticed about this stuff is that it smells so weird. Like, chemically... It's also super difficult to get the product into the pipette to place onto my skin. I used a small bit of this after the priming oil to give myself a glow. That might also be another reason the foundation wasn't working for me. That being said, I also used it as a highlighter and it left me with little to no glow.
Ps.. My Perfect Color Concealer - I didn't get off to a great start with this stuff either. I swiped it over my cheek, it literally left little holes where my pores were. When I blended it in it left a really cakey texture and clunge to areas I don't need my concealer clinging to.
Photo Focus Foundation - This stuff smells like bananas. Has anyone else noticed that? Every Irish girl was raving about this stuff. With their main point being that the lightest shade was perfect for us ghostly girls. I beg to differ. It definitely oxidized to a more orange shade on me. As you can tell in the pictures (I hated not photoshopping out my zits and stuff guys but... you guys need to see how bad this stuff is) it sunk into every crease and pore, caked around my nose, and honestly wasn't that full coverage. It also felt so damn heavy on my skin.
It's looking like all of the skin products were pretty much a fail for me. I've said before I have pretty oily skin but it's been pretty dry at the moment. All of those spots and bumps were a result of using that oil for a few days. I'm still trying to get them to go away. I also think a liquid highlighter should be 100% more glow-y. I mean it's concentrated unicorn blood right? I want to glow like the sun!
Keep your eyes peeled for part two where I talk about what products I used on my eyes, brows, and lips!

I've seen so many people talking about using oils lately but haven't tried it yet. I might just have to give in to the hype!
