Makeup Bag Staples || April 2018

Hello people of the internet! I've decided I want to try to write a post each month focusing on what's in my makeup bag. The products I'm constantly reaching for and what's become a staple for me. This month I've been sticking to simple makeup that I can do in about a half an hour. Since I'm doing a festival, it's important to me that I get as much sleep as possible and only have to spend a short time getting ready in the morning!

Face And Base

At the moment I've been priming my eyelids with the Collection  Lasting Perfection concealer and setting them with the Essence All About Matte powder. This give me a flawless base and I usually do this even when I'm applying heavier makeup as well. Then, I just pop a bit of my favorite primer - Urban Decay Optical Illusion - all over my face. It blurs away any pores and fine lines and leaves your skin looking silky smooth. Some days I'll just set that with the same matte powder.

If I feel like I need a bit more coverage I'll either use the *YSL Touche Eclat All-In-One glow foundation or the L'Oreal Infallible matte foundation. Less is more is the key to both of these foundations. I'll use the L'Oreal foundation if I'm feeling over oily that day and if I want a healthy go-from-within look than the YSL foundation is perfect for that!

After I use a brush to buff my foundation in/set my primer with powder I go in with the classic Mary Lou-Manizer highlighter.  It gives a wonderful glow without too much chunky glitter. It's perfect if you're looking to do a more minimal look but still want to pack on your highlight!

The Eyes

I always start with my brows. Not pictured but still a favorite of mine is the Catrice Slim'Matic ultra precise brow pencil and the bPerfect brow powder. I then set my brows with a run of the mill clear brow gel from Penneys. Afterwards, I'll prime and set my eyes like I said above and move onto my lids.

My two go-to palettes at the moment are my Naked Ultimate Basics (NUB) palette and the *Naked Petite Heat Palette (NPH). I either use the two lightest brown shades from the NUB palette or the more orange shades from the NPH palette in my crease. I blend those out and that's it!

I personally don't feel like myself unless I do an flick of winged liner. I'm obsessed with the Lancome Monsieur Big eyeliner pen. It's so dark and precise. After I use any liquid eyeliner pen I like to set the liner with a matte black shadow. I feel like it gives it an extra kick and a bit more lasting power. I also run a bit of the black shadow on my upper waterline to give the liner the darkest and most cohesive finish possible.

Last but not least by any means I use the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I have been repurchasing and using pretty much only this mascara for easily three years now. It gives you volume and length without any clumpiness. And, it's darker than my soul!
