October Favorites || Blogtober

Hello people of the internet! Can you believe October is somehow almost over already? I'm mildly heartbroken over it, to be honest. This weekend the clocks went back and to me, that means it's pretty much Winter. Why do the last few months of the year always seem to feel so short? Does anyone else feel that way? Anyways, here are a few things that have been keeping me cosy and warm this month!

My Favorite Murder Podcast - Okay, I am so late to the game with this one. I've been a fan of podcasts for years but specifically two podcasts. I think they're perfect for the bus into work or just while I'm cleaning, working, etc. But lately, I've been craving something more than just my usual gaming/comedy podcasts. Everyone I follow on Instagram and Twitter constant talk about MFM so I decided to give it a go. Well... I listened to 7 episodes in a day! I'm kind of obsessed. True crime is a huge passion of mine and I love their sense of humour too. It's so informative without being boring. If you don't know what the premise of the My Favorite Murder Podcast is here you go - It's two amazing women (Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark) discussing two true crime stories each week and at the end, they usually share submissions of listener's hometown murders! If you love true crime you need to check it out!

Autumn - I always feel if I talk about how much I love Autumn I'll truly cement my place in the Basic White Girl hall of blandness. But, I really love it. I chatted about it briefly on Instagram the other day. Every year I really do feel so lucky that the seasonal change from Summer to Autumn is something I get to experience. There's something so wonderful and beautiful about all of the leaves changing. Few things in this world compare to hearing freshly fallen leaves crunch underneath your shoes for the first time each year.

The Haunting Of Hill House - Where do I even start with this show!? I've been watching it with my boyfriend and his housemate over the past few weeks. I wish we had enough time to completely binge the whole thing in one sitting, to be honest. The night that this post goes up I should be watching the last episode! Even though it makes me so scared that I feel like I'm going to throw up I love it. The three of us have basically been trying to see who can spot the most ghost in the background too (I think I'm winning haha). But my favourite part of the show is how much emotion it's made me feel. You wouldn't think that a "scary" show would make you cry. Well, you wouldn't think they would be sad tears. It's slowly changed from a spooky, high adrenaline thriller into a heart-wrenching tale of a broken family. Thinking back about it - it's probably been that all along.

Blogtober - Let's be honest, I haven't been the absolute best at keeping up with Blogtober this year. Work has definitely gotten in the way but I mean, that's life. But, I've written at least 15 posts this month and I feel like it's made me really enjoy blogging again. I'm starting to really identify what kind of content I really love to make and it's making me feel like I'm becoming a better blogger.

Making A Murderer Part 2 - If you couldn't tell, I love true crime. Season two of Making A Murderer was released on Netflix this month. I rushed home from work and immediately started binge watching. I have so many theories about what could have happened and I love the way this season focused on the other theories. I'm also completely obsessed with Kathleen Zellner! She is such an intelligent, interesting, and powerful woman!

I think I definitely managed to get into a spooky mindset this month! Lots, and lots of true crime and horror! Another thing I was loving this month was Dan. If you guys don't know Dan is my boyfriend. Our anniversary is on Halloween and I swear over the past month I've just fallen for him even more. If that was even possible. So, shout out to my favourite guy in the world. I love ya to bits!

  1. I LOVED The Haunting of Hill House! I personally didn't find it scary and if anything more scary and depressing! Luke really tore on my heartstrings and he's definitely my favourite character. :)
