White font reading "Pure Cork Deep South" Over a lighted background

Hello people of the internet! Today is the second installment of Pure Cork! If you don't know what that is, let me explain! Basically, it's a little review or profile of a Cork city business. If I go some where and I love it, I'll share it. Or, if a business contacts me (and I like them enough and think you will too) I'll do a little piece on them! Today's post is a business I just couldn't love more. Deep South. Located at the end of Grand parade is possibly one of the best beer gardens you could ever come across in the Rebel county. With lights strung atop the fences and in trees and the smell of a barbecue lingering in the air, you don't feel like you're in a bar. You get this atmosphere that you're at a party.

When I first came across Deep South I was there for a work do. We had a little pub quiz and I was immediately head over heels for the place. The decor was right up my alley and everything, down to the fonts used for the menus were perfect. The second time I was there was for another work do. This time we had food. I remember eating like 10 ribs and two bowls of sweet potato fries that night. I also had my first ever Espresso Martini. Oh my god, that's my drink recommendation! When Dan and I found ourselves wondering around Cork looking for some new food to try; it wasn't long before I picked Deep South.

Needless to say, I was/am very impressed. I went with the Pulled Pork (€10.00 including chips) and Dan went with the Bacon and Cheese Burger (€10.00 including chips). We also got a side of nachos (€5.00) which had the most amazing guacamole and salsa. Dan and I both demolished our meals. It might just be some of the best food I've had in Cork. We also ended up getting a side order of Sweet Potato fries (€3.50). Deep South has their very own smoke house out back. Personally, I think that's what makes their food so unique and flavorful. Overall, I was delighted with our food and the prices. If you would like to take a look at the whole menu, click here. I would like to note that I am vegetarian now. I did hear that they will be branching out into more veggie friendly options! I'm super excited to give them a go!

Of course we couldn't leave without a drink! In the words of Mrs.Kasha Davis "There's always time for a cocktail!" If you're looking for a place with good food, amazing drinks, and somewhere you can actually socialize; Deep South is the place. I can't wait to spend all of the sunny, summer days there!
