*Dublin Sightseeing GhostBus Tour

Thursday, November 10, 2016

Hello people of the internet! How are you? Did you have a nice Halloween? As most of you know, mine and Dan's anniversary is on Halloween! This year we went up to Dublin. The lovely folks over at *365 tickets reached out to me to see if we would like to go on the *Dublin Sightseeing GhostBus tour. Of course, I said yes! Because our anniversary is on Halloween we don't get to do many spooky things and this sounded ideal!

We arrived at the Dublin Bus Headquarters on O'Connell Street and presented our tickets. I was getting on the bus and about to start Snapchatting when I was immediately terrified by our host for the evening. He jumped out and scared me from behind a curtain. I knew straight away I was in for a fun night.

You enter the bus through their museum of the Macabre and wind up on the top of the double-decker, and sit in a victorian style theater. Our host was Sebastian and he was honestly fantastic. I know that doing something like this day in and day out might make a host a bit stale but this man was a ball of energy.

The tour starts with the curtains closed and Sebastian telling you about some of the skeletons in Dublin's closet. You also learn about Bram Stroker and Dracula's origins. As you start driving along you're asked to open your curtains to look at some of Dublin's most haunted sites. My favorite one was probably the Shelbourne Hotel and the eerie story about a haunted room on the fifth floor.

Our first stop was St.Kevin's Graveyard. The second we walked in I had the strangest overwhelming feeling. This graveyard dates back to the 13th century and was victim to body-snatching like many other Dublin graveyards were in the 19th century. Our host even spoke about a little boy who was murdered there. Despite a large investigation, there was never justice. People say he's still there. I definitely believe in ghosts guys. And, I think you would too if you felt what I was feeling in St.Kevins.

Our last stop was probably mine and Dan's favorite. St.Audoens Church. This Church was founded in 1190 and is home to one of Dublin's most paranormal sites, the haunted steps. A vision of Darkey Kelly (PLEASE GOOGLE HER OMG) can often be seen walking down the steps. I was so scared that I was actually going to see her that I was just clung to Dan the whole time we were there!

I couldn't recommend the *Dublin Sightseeing GhostBus tour more! I just want to say a huge thank you to the people at *365 tickets for inviting me and Dan to take the tour!
