Candy Cane Inspired Holiday Makeup Look

Hello people of the internet! I've been seriously lacking in the Blogmas department this year. But, I've decided to change that! What better way to kick off my Christmas content than with a candy cane inspired makeup look! I tried to do a very similar look a few years back but I wasn't ever happy with it. This year, I'm in LOVE!

Believe it or not, this look is super easy! You just need a colourful eyebrow pomade or eyeliner, eyeshadow, and some sequins. I used the Kat Von D(on't vaccinate) brow pomade. But, I have personal reasons why I would never purchase from her brand again. Luckily, Revolution makeup has brought out their own lil dupe. Which, I'm going to buy soon to compare with the KVD pomades.

The easiest way to get a sharp, even wing even if you're not good at eyeliner is tape. I personally like to use washi tape. You can position the tape to make sure you have a very even line on both sides. And, you can get as much outside of the lines as possible because you'll be removing the tape at the end.

I would suggest using the red pomade/liner first. Make sure you give it time to dry before adding the white stripes. That way the colours look nice and clean. You can even go over the pomade/liner with a bit of eyeshadow after to make sure the colours look bold.

After I did my liner I decided to add a pop of green on my lower lash line. For that, I used the Bperfect Carnival palette, Urban Decay Jean Michel Basquiat liner in Post Punk, and the NYX Cosmetics Color Mascara in Perfect Pear. Lightly blend "mint" from the carnival palette along the lower lash line. Take your green eyeliner and line your waterline. Take "envy" from the carnival palette and smoke it out before blending more of "mint" for a clean, soft blend. Finish the lower lashline with the NYX mascara!

For finishing touches - add some sequins to anywhere you think they'll pop. I love these star sequins I picked up from the party section in Tesco. I just use a bit of lash glue to stick them in place.

I'm so, so, so in love with this look. I think it'll be great if you have a Christmas party coming up or if you just want to add some more Christmas cheer in your life. You can add more eyeshadow or less. I definitely think the liner would work on its own if you're not too confident doing that much colour on your lower lashline.

One of the things I want to start doing in 2019 is more makeup looks. I love seeing how much I've grown over the past few years. I've learned so much and practice makes perfect! So, I want to start a new hashtag - #CJlewks! If you're inspired by anything I do or any products I use - use that hashtag to let me know! And, I already have a few ideas for this hashtag for 2019 too!
