Bedroom Tour Part One || How I Styled My Bed & Side Table
Friday, March 08, 2019Hello people of the internet! I don't know if it's because Spring is in the air or I've just been really bored but, I desperately needed to restyle my bedroom! I was going to do make one big bedroom tour post but I love all of the areas of my room and the photos I took that I decided to do it separately! So, for part one I'm going to be sharing how I style my bed and my side table!
I'm going to start this off by saying I live at home with my parents in a house that we rent. That means I don't have a lot of creative control with how my room is styled. The walls are cream and I have a grey carpet. Not my favourite but it'll do! The bed also came with the house. If I had my way, I would definitely pick out a new frame. I currently have my bed and side table place against my radiator facing my TV and shelf (which you'll see in the next post!).
I only recently picked up this adorable little side table from Argos. It took all of 5 minutes to put together and it was only €12! Before I honestly had a kitchen chair next to my bed that became a total "throw chair" aka I threw anything and everything on top of it. Now that I have this side table I decided to move my star light (from Penneys/Primark) from my shelf over on top of it. I wanted some pink and grey accents to go with the bed so decided to whip out this amazing candle that I got as a Christmas present. And, I found that adorable tray in Dealz(Poundland).
My bed is my safe place. It actually used to have more pillows and throw blankets too! When I was in Dealz, I picked up a small storage box for all of my extra throw blankets and popped them under my bed. And, I donated some of my extra throw pillows to other people in my house. Literally, all of my bedding is from Penneys (Primark)! I already the dark grey duvet set. It's made from Jersey (t-shirt material) and it's so bloody soft! Like, I don't think I can ever buy another duvet cover if it's not this material. I also have a jersey light grey sheet underneath this.
Since the duvet set came with grey pillowcases I just picked up a pair of these muted pink ones. The fluffy pillows in the middle were a gift from my brother for Christmas. And yes, they are as soft as they look! The newest additions are the quilted throw pillows. They're nice and firm but soft enough to sleep with. Last but not least we have my treasured throw blankets! When I picked up all the other pink odds and end I grabbed that light baby pink throw. Honestly, why does anyone but their throw blankets anywhere but Penneys? They're only €5, soft as heck, and they have so many colour options. The most expensive item on my bed has to be the massive, light grey throw.
I eyed that blanket up every year when Penneys would bring them out around Christmas. I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much. But, in Winter 2017 I made possibly one of the best investments ever when I bought it. It's super heavy and snug. Plus, I take so many blog photos on it! Actually, I do that with pretty much all of these throw blankets and pillow. I've had that blanket for just over a year now and if you were thinking of buying a similar one from Penneys - do! Totally worth the €28!
I think one of my favourite parts of my bedroom is this massive window. When we first moved in I remember telling my mom that I didn't care what I room I got as long as it had good lighting (blogger problems). Luckily we have a pretty forested area behind the house. It makes for a great view. As much as I adore this window I do usually have my blackout curtains drawn. Can we just talk about how expensive/hard to find blackout curtains are!? I ended up finally finding mine in The Range for €30. Which isn't too bad considering they fit my window PERFECTLY.
Well, thank you so much if you stuck out this whole post. Because I could talk about interiors and decorating for absolutely hours on end! I would love to hear where you buy your homeware items. And, if you have any suggestions for what I should do with this massive bare wall behind my bed that would be great too!
